Policy tracking versus a policy number search box
Insurer portals are excellent at finding a policy they issued. They are weak at showing every policy you personally service across brands for one household. Policy tracking in an agent CRM means you maintain the lines you care about — with the next date that should trigger work — on the client you already call.
InsuredBoard stores type, premium, due date, and status on each policy. Those dates feed overdue, due today, and upcoming. Without accurate dates, the board is theatre. Enter the anniversary when you issue or renew. Update it when the client pays or moves the term. That discipline is the feature; the UI only makes it visible.
Multi-line support matters because Indian agency books rarely stay pure. A term plan, a floater, and a bike can share one phone number. Tracking them as siblings under one client is how you stop missing the quiet due date hiding in another tab.
Statuses that keep the book honest
Active, renewed, lapsed, and replaced (or your agency's equivalent labels) stop ghost policies from clogging urgency lists. If a client bought elsewhere, mark it. If they revived cover, restore the date. Teams fight less when the board reflects reality instead of optimism.
Reference fields — policy number, registration note, plan name — help service calls. They are typed data. There is no Vahan fetch and no OCR inventing numbers from a blurry photo. If you need those automations, that is a different product category.
What this feature is not
- Not an insurer policy admin system for endorsements.
- Not live commission per policy from insurer APIs.
- Not bulk WhatsApp Business API keyed off policy IDs.
- Not free CSV on the trial — import is paid-only.
Renewals and WhatsApp as outputs
Policy tracking is the input. The renewal board is the daily view. WhatsApp is the last mile: pre-filled from your phone, sent by you. Read policy renewal tracking and WhatsApp renewal reminders for those surfaces. Mobile install: insurance CRM PWA.
Trial caps active policies at 75 for seven days so you feel tracking on a real slice. Raise caps on paid plans. See pricing.
Commission adjacency
Renewal commission assumes the policy remains in force. Tracking due dates is how you protect that outcome. Estimating rupees belongs in the commission calculator. Official credits belong in insurer statements. See insurance commission tracking.
Who feels this feature immediately
Anyone whose morning starts with "which premiums are due?" Life agents watching persistency. Motor agents in peak months. Health agents guarding continuity. If your only need is reprinting a schedule from one portal, keep using the portal — and still consider tracking when the household spans more than one login.
